RTA Committees

The RTA has technical advisory and citizen oversight committees. The RTA Technical Management Committee and the RTA Citizens Accountability for Regional Transportation (CART) Committee report directly to the RTA Board.

RTA Citizens Accountability for Regional Transportation (CART) Committee

The CART Committee monitors progress toward implementation of the 20-year RTA plan. Voters approved the original RTA plan in 2006 and the new $2.67 billion RTA plan (RTA Next) in March 2026. The committee provides oversight on program delivery and fiscal management of the plan’s funding source.  The CART Committee meets quarterly or as needed.

RTA Technical Management Committee (TMC)

The TMC is a technical and policy advisory committee that monitors the technical performance of the voter-approved RTA plan and provides input to the RTA CART Committee. The TMC, which includes technical representatives from RTA member jurisdictions and the private sector, meets quarterly, or as scheduled.
